2. Do I need a high GPA to qualify?
No, all seniors who are graduating from Center High School in Center, Texas, qualify. However, students must apply to be considered for scholarships. Click here to submit your application online.
3. Can I use the scholarship money to go to trade school?
You certainly can! Center High School has graduating seniors who have used their scholarships to attend colleges, universities, trade or career schools, and community colleges. Talk to your guidance or career counselor to be sure your choices for higher education are eligible.
4. How can I make a donation to the Roughrider Scholarship Fund?
We welcome both private and business donations. You can make your donation on this website, you can contact a member of the RSF board, or you can submit the contact form on this site to make a donation. We also offer Paypal for individual donations. Read more here.
5. How can I donate in someone’s honor?
We have many options available. You can make a donation in someone’s name to honor them or you can donate to one of the existing scholarships honoring many of our most respected citizens and graduates. We also offer memorial plaques for larger corporate donations and for cumulative donations that total $5,000 or more made in memory or to honor a certain person. 6. How did the Roughrider Scholarship Fund get started?
In 1988, the Roughrider Scholarship Foundation was started with funds from the sale of the Center Youth Center Foundation building and land to the City of Center for the sum of $57,500. The Trustees for the Youth Center had the foresight to establish a Roughrider Scholarship Fund that would be invested whereby only the interest would be used for future scholarships for graduating seniors of the Center Independent School District.
